December 7, 2013, Officials at Springfield Clinic Lincoln have announced the addition of a social worker to their patient care team. Brian Gazdziak, a licensed clinical social worker, has joined the Lincoln staff and will provide patients with individual counseling for a wide variety of issues, including depression, grief, as well as marital and personal matters. December 7, 2013, A program called Intervention with Micro finance for AIDS and Gender Equity (IMAGE) in South Africa shows great promise. IMAGE targets women living in the poorest households in rural areas, and combines financial services with skills-building sessions for women and men on HIV prevention, gender norms, cultural beliefs, communication and intimate partner violence. Two years after completing the program, women participants reported 55% fewer acts of violence by their intimate partners.

December 5, 2013: Main Street Lincoln hosted the annual City of Lincoln Christmas Parade this evening. It was a chilly night but there was a great turnout from Logan County as children of all ages came out to see the parade. There were a total of 55 entries, one being Santa's new sleigh made possible by Lincoln Elks Lodge and Seth Goodman, ME Realty. Accompanying Santa was "Ride Along with Santa" contest winner Ivy Sandel. (Click for more)
